Mama been sick a long time this season with colds and bronco-itis, so she went to see a specialist - an ENT (ear, nose, throat) for help. LOOONG story short = mama hafta get her tonsils and adenoids out ASAP. Surgery is scheduled for Jan. 16th and she's kinda scared.
Doctor said big tonsils and unusually large adenoids hafta go, but that's not all - eeek! Doc said mama have sinus structural problems that must be fixed or problems will persist.
Mama has had issues with her ears, nose and throat for many, many years and now finally knows the reason. She's relieved to be getting it all solved but keeps telling me she's scared. I don't blame her cuz I hate when the vet fishes around in my mouth, too! *cough, pppfftt, spit*
Doctor is gonna fix three problems inside her head besides just the tonsils and adenoids: one is a deviated septum, and then two structural congential issues in the sinuses that will help her breathe better and not get sick all the time. I'm happy for her, but now I'm scared too! What if they poke her brain?! That could make her even more silly than she already is!!! Yipe! Being anemic, she worried about bleeding too much, plus I hear there is one heckuva sore throat in store.
I'm gonna do my best to feed her a ton of lime popsicles and keep her feet warm when she's resting. If you wanna send good/positive thoughts her way, we'd both appreciate that. :)

I heard ice cream works on throats after tonsils (moms lucky for a great excuse to pig out on ice cream)
Most of what your mom's got sounds like me divated septum never had but one bad bout of some throat infection that was very stubborn (kept returning)
I go for cat scan tomorrow as I mentioned pulmonary dr says xray not showing details have twisted blood vessels in 1 lung? Wants to look further.
Terrified!! Is putting it mildly.

PepiSmartDog: Hi Andy & Mama: think of all the jelly and ice-cream! MMmm! Mum's had her tonsils out PLUS she'd had the sinus op & you'll feel SO MUCH BETTER when it heals up! It IS worth the worry & 'stuff' your going thru now cause you'll breath better for the rest of your life!
Andy I'll know you'll look good in a man-nurse outfit as you comb mama's hair with your paws. You could even lay on her & remind her your there at all times.
